Why you might be blocked from your website or DirectAdmin and how to get unblocked

Our security systems automatically block IP addresses that behave suspiciously. Occasionally, genuine customers get caught, usually because of a saved password that's out of date.

Signs you've been blocked

  • Your website, DirectAdmin, webmail or FTP won't load for you, but works for other people or on your mobile data.
  • Your email app suddenly can't connect.
  • You see a page saying the website is protected by Imunify360, with a checkbox to confirm you're not a robot.

If you see the Imunify360 page

Tick the checkbox and complete the check. You'll be taken to the website and your access is restored.

If the website or DirectAdmin won't load at all

  1. Confirm it's a block. Try again on your mobile data. If it works there, your usual network's IP address is probably blocked.
  2. Find your blocked IP address. On the blocked network, search "what is my IP" and note the address shown.
  3. Fix the cause. Update any saved passwords that might be wrong. See the common causes below.
  4. Ask us to unblock it. From your mobile data or another network, open a Technical Support ticket and include the IP address.

Many blocks expire on their own after a while, but we can remove them sooner.

Common causes

Cause What to do
An old password saved in an email app on a phone, tablet or computer Update the password in every app and device that uses the account
An old password saved in an FTP program Update the saved password in the program's site settings
Repeatedly entering the wrong DirectAdmin or WordPress password Use a password manager or reset the password instead of guessing
A device on your network infected with malware Run a virus scan on the devices that use that network
A shared IP address, common on office networks and mobile data Another user on the same IP address may have triggered the block. Open a ticket and we'll check.

Changed a password recently? Update it on every device straight away. Phones keep retrying with the old password in the background, which is the most common reason customers are blocked.
