If you installed WordPress with Softaculous, you can back it up and restore it in a few clicks. A Softaculous backup includes your WordPress files and database.
Creating a backup
- Log in to DirectAdmin.
- Go to Extra Features and click Softaculous Apps Installer.
- Open All Installations and click the backup icon beside your website.
- Tick the backup directory and backup database options.
- Start the backup.
Downloading or restoring a backup
Open Backups and Restore in Softaculous. Your backups are listed by website and date. From here you can:
- download a backup to your computer
- restore a backup, which replaces your current website with the backed-up version
- delete old backups to free up disk space
Automatic backups
You can set Softaculous to back up your website on a schedule:
- In All Installations, click the edit (pencil) icon beside your website.
- Under the backup settings, choose how often to back up (for example, weekly) and how many backups to keep.
- Save the installation details.
Backups stored on your account use your disk space, so keep only a few and download important ones to your computer.
