Setting up email in Outlook

You'll need your email address, its password and the settings in Email settings for your phone and computer (IMAP, POP3 and SMTP).

New Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac

  1. Open Outlook and go to Settings > Accounts > Email accounts.
  2. Click Add account and enter your email address.
  3. If Outlook asks which type of account it is, choose IMAP.
  4. Enter your password and the server settings:
    • IMAP incoming server: mail.yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
    • SMTP outgoing server: mail.yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL/TLS
    • Username: your full email address, for both servers
  5. Click Continue to finish.

Classic Outlook for Windows

  1. Go to File > Add Account.
  2. Enter your email address, then open Advanced options and tick Let me set up my account manually.
  3. Click Connect and choose IMAP.
  4. Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings above and click Next.
  5. Enter your password and click Connect.

If it doesn't work

  • Outlook can't find your settings automatically. This is normal. Choose manual set-up and IMAP.
  • Outlook keeps asking for your password. Check that the username is your full email address and the password works in webmail.
  • You can receive but not send. Make sure the outgoing server requires authentication and uses the same username and password as the incoming server.
