Email settings for your phone and computer (IMAP, POP3 and SMTP)

Use these settings to add your PaduHost email account to any email app, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird or the Gmail app.

Settings

Setting Value
Username Your full email address, for example hello@yourdomain.com
Password The password for that email account
Incoming server mail.yourdomain.com
IMAP port 993, with SSL/TLS
POP3 port 995, with SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP) server mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS, or 587 with STARTTLS
SMTP authentication Required. Use the same username and password.

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain.

IMAP or POP3?

Choose IMAP. It keeps your email on the server, so your phone, computer and webmail all show the same messages and folders. POP3 downloads email to one device and is only useful if you need to keep email off the server.

Common problems

  • Certificate or security warning: use your server hostname from your welcome email as the incoming and outgoing server instead of mail.yourdomain.com.
  • Can't connect at all: check that your domain points to PaduHost. Until it does, use your server hostname.
  • Password keeps being rejected: make sure the username is your full email address. Check the password by logging in to webmail.
  • Can receive but not send: make sure outgoing (SMTP) authentication is switched on in your app and uses the same username and password.
  • Blocked after several failed attempts: our security system may have blocked your IP address. Correct the password in your app, then open a Technical Support ticket if you still can't connect.
