Adding another domain to your hosting (addon domains)

If your plan allows more than one website, you can host another domain on the same account. Each domain gets its own website folder and email addresses.

Adding a domain

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
  2. Go to Account Manager and click Domain Setup.
  3. Click the option to add a new domain.
  4. Enter the domain name without www, for example mysecondsite.com.
  5. Leave the other settings as they are and create the domain.

DirectAdmin creates a website folder for the new domain at domains/mysecondsite.com/public_html.

Next steps

  1. Point the domain to PaduHost. See Pointing your domain to PaduHost.
  2. Set up SSL once the domain points to us. See Free SSL certificates (Let's Encrypt).
  3. Upload your website or install WordPress, choosing the new domain when asked.
  4. Create email accounts for the new domain in Email Manager.

Good to know

  • How many domains you can add depends on your plan. If you've reached the limit, see Upgrading or downgrading your hosting plan.
  • Disk space and bandwidth are shared between all the domains on your account.
  • Deleting a domain in Domain Setup permanently deletes its website files and email accounts. Back them up first.
  • Want a second domain to show the same website? Use a domain pointer instead. See Pointing extra domains at your website.
