Registering a .my domain

.my domains are Malaysia's own domain extension, managed by MYNIC. They're a good choice if your customers are mainly in Malaysia.

Who can register

Anyone, including individuals and organisations in any country. Documents are not usually needed.

MYNIC can check registrant details at any time and may suspend domains with incomplete or inaccurate information.

Price

A new .my domain is RM38 for the first year, then RM154 a year to renew. A transfer in is RM144. Our Domains page lists the current prices.

How long it takes

Most .my domains are registered within minutes of payment.

Changing nameservers or contact details

Change your nameservers in the client area. See Changing nameservers for a domain registered with us. Changes to the registrant follow MYNIC's rules. See Updating your domain's registrant contact details.

Registration and renewal

  • Domains are registered for 1 year at a time and renew each year.
  • After a domain expires, there's a renewal grace period of up to 45 days, then a 30-day redemption period where a restoration fee applies, then 5 days before it's deleted. See What happens when a domain expires.

Transferring a .my domain to PaduHost

.my domains don't use an authorisation (EPP) code. Moving a .my domain between providers follows MYNIC's own process, which is confirmed by the domain's contacts. Open a Technical Support ticket and we'll guide you through it.

Rules are set by MYNIC and can change. Full details are in MYNIC's Registrant Policy.
