To move a domain from PaduHost to another registrar, you'll need to unlock it and give the new registrar its authorisation code, also known as the EPP code or transfer code.
Before you start
- The domain must be at least 60 days old and not transferred in the last 60 days.
- The domain must not have expired. If it has, renew it first.
- Check that the registrant email address is correct, as you may receive emails about the transfer.
Getting your code
- Log in to the Client Area and go to Domains.
- Click Manage beside the domain.
- In the domain's settings, turn off the registrar lock.
- Request the authorisation code. Depending on the extension, it's shown on the page or emailed to the registrant email address.
- Start the transfer with your new registrar and give them the code.
If you can't find the option, open a Technical Support ticket and we'll send you the code within 5 days.
Good to know
- Keep the code private. Anyone with the code and an unlocked domain can start a transfer.
- Your hosting isn't affected. If your nameservers point to PaduHost, your website and email keep working after the transfer. If you're also cancelling your hosting, update your nameservers first.
- You don't lose paid time. For most extensions, including .com, the new registrar adds a year to your current expiry date.
- .my domains use a different process. Open a ticket and we'll guide you through it.
