Adding contacts to your account

Contacts let other people, such as your web developer or bookkeeper, receive emails about your account or log in to the Client Area with their own login. You never need to share your password.

Adding a contact

  1. Log in to the Client Area and go to Contacts.
  2. Add a new contact and enter their name and email address.
  3. Choose the contact type. A Billing contact can receive your invoices by email.
  4. To let them log in, enable login for the contact, set their username and password and tick the areas they can access.
  5. Save the contact.

Choosing what they can access

Only give each person access to what they need. For example:

Person Suggested access
Bookkeeper or accountant Invoices and transactions
Web developer Services and support tickets, without billing

Removing a contact

You can change a contact's access or delete them from Contacts at any time, for example when you change web developer.

Giving access to your website files

Client Area access doesn't include DirectAdmin. To let a developer upload files without giving them your DirectAdmin login, create a separate FTP account for them. This needs Rise or Roar, as Spark has one FTP login. See Uploading your website.
