We send your welcome email as soon as your hosting account is ready. It contains the details you need to manage your website and email. This article explains each part.
DirectAdmin login details
DirectAdmin is the control panel you use to manage your website files, email accounts, databases, domains and SSL certificates. Your welcome email includes:
- DirectAdmin address: the web address you use to log in. It ends in
:2222, for example https://server-name:2222.
- Username: your DirectAdmin username. You also use this to connect by FTP.
- Password: your DirectAdmin password.
Your DirectAdmin login is separate from your Client Area login. Changing one password does not change the other.
Server details
- Server hostname: the name of the server your account is on. You'll use it when you connect by FTP or set up email on your devices.
- IP address: your server's IP address. You only need this if you keep your DNS with another provider or if you want to preview your website before your domain points to us.
Nameservers
These are the nameservers you enter at your domain registrar to point your domain to PaduHost. If you registered your domain with us, this is done for you. See Pointing your domain to PaduHost.
Keeping your details safe
- Keep your welcome email somewhere safe or save the details in a password manager.
- Change your DirectAdmin password after you log in for the first time.
- PaduHost staff will never ask you to send your Client Area or DirectAdmin password by email.
