Cancelling a service

You can cancel a hosting plan or other service from the Client Area. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period, so your service keeps working until the time you've paid for runs out.

Within 14 days of your first hosting order? You may be entitled to a full refund. See Our 14-day money-back guarantee before you cancel.

How to cancel

  1. Log in to the Client Area and go to Services.
  2. Click Manage beside the service you want to cancel.
  3. Open Actions and choose the option to cancel the service.
  4. Tell us why you're leaving if you'd like to, then confirm.

We'll email you to confirm the cancellation and the date your service ends. If you've already received a renewal invoice for the service, you don't need to pay it.

Before your service ends

  • Back up your data. When the service ends, your website files, databases and email are permanently deleted. See Creating and downloading a backup in DirectAdmin.
  • Update your nameservers if your website or email is moving to another provider.
  • Check your domains. Cancelling your hosting doesn't cancel a domain registered with us. To stop a domain from renewing, turn off auto-renew for it. See Renewing a domain and turning on auto-renew.

Refunds

Outside our 14-day money-back guarantee, we don't refund the unused part of a billing period. The exceptions are when we end your service for our own reasons, when we make a material change to our terms that you don't accept and when we withdraw a plan you're on. See our Refund Policy.

Changed your mind?

You can withdraw your cancellation from the same page at any time before your service ends.

Lifetime plans

Lifetime plans don't have a billing period. To cancel one, open a Billing ticket and we'll confirm the date your service will end.
